What to know
Tuna, Spanish mackerel, giant trevally and sailfish are mobile predators that often require active searching around bait and current. Grouper, red snapper and related species are more closely tied to reefs and bottom structure. Squid and smaller bait species are also part of the food web that determines where predators appear.

How to use it on the water
Do not treat a species list as a guaranteed menu. The captain chooses depth and method from the fish actually present: drifting, jigging or trolling for moving pelagics; bottom fishing around structure for reef species. Season and recent observations matter more than a fixed target list.
