Why are tuna found in Crystal Bay?
Warm water, bait, structure and current have to work together. Tuna are fast-moving predators, so today's fish position follows what is happening in the water now.
Islands meet deeper water
Reefs and drop-offs connect shallow structure with roughly 30–80 m fishing depths.
Currents concentrate bait
Flow around structure can gather food and create hunting lanes for tuna.
A seasonal window
August–April more often brings the useful combination of wind, current, temperature and bait.
